Historic Boettcher Mansion

Entrepreneur Charles Boettcher built this in 1917 on 77 acres next to Colorow Point preserved by Denver in 1915. The exquisite “Lorraine Lodge” has a carriage house, well house, gazebo, terraces, and an entrance gate. The “arts & crafts style” of 10,000 square feet was gifted to Je erson County by granddaughter Charline Breeden in 1968 to be used as a “park, library, museum, and recreation.” It became part of Je Co Open Space after voters approved
the OS system in 1972. It was used as a nature and event center in 1977 until the new nature center was built in 1992. Weddings and special events continue to enjoy using the mansion.
