Evergreen is a vast 155-square-mile, unincorporated territory, including 40 square miles within east Clear Creek County (CCC), with a federal zip code 80439. Elevation varies from 7,000 feet at Evergreen Lake to 10,000 feet in CCC.

Evergreen became a glamorous 1920s summer vacation village. It was a quaint 1950s mountain hamlet, which grew to a bustling 21st Century mountain suburb by 2016. Area population began at 40 in 1875 and grew beyond 35,000 by 2000. Summer colonies for the rich and famous became high-end neighborhoods.
