The most popular place is the 55-acre Evergreen Lake and Dam created in 1928 by Denver after acquisition of 420-acre Dedisse Park for $30,120 in 1919. Evergreen Golf Course was built by Harry Sidles and donated to Denver in 1926.
Voters approved creating Evergreen Park & Recreation special district in 1969 and included Kittredge, Indian Hills, Marshdale and Bergen Park. The Wulf Recreation Center was built next to Evergreen High School in 1973. The Buchanan Recreation Center was built in Bergen Park in 1994. The district provides some of the most essential community services.
EPRD sta  manages the Lake House, built in 1993 with Je Co Open Space funding. The Lake House provides delightful space for hundreds of annual community events.
