In 1977, Je Co Open Space acquired the Williams log lodge in Evergreen with its rustic architecture on 4.3 acres. It is maintained by Je Co Open Space with Je Co Historical Society volunteers. Historic furnishings and Native American art are on permanent display.
Hiwan Golf Club, built in 1962 east o Evergreen Parkway, is privately owned by the David Fowler Trust.
Rustic downtown Evergreen has been known as “Main Street” since the 1890s. It is still considered to be the Heart of Evergreen with restaurants, art galleries and fashion stores. The Little Bear Hotel building was built in 1871 and changed purposes many times.
The annual Evergreen Rodeo was rst organized to entertain Troutdale guests in 1935. Bu alo Bill Saddle Club produced annual rodeos 1947-55. Bear Creek Rodeo Association acquired an arena site and has continued every June since 1966. It continues in 2016, complete with a huge parade through the downtown. EvergreenRodeo.com
