Bergen Park
Thomas Bergen was the rst settler in north Evergreen in 1859. He operated a stage stop, grew potatoes and vegetables, harvested hay and grain, cut and sold timber and traded fresh oxen for footsore arrivals to rest in pasture for future trade. He served as a Je erson Territorial Commissioner 1862-69. Denver preserved 25 acres of “Bergen Park” in 1915. Stone picnic facilities were built by the CCC during the 1930s. Denver acquired 105 acres of Fillius Park in 1918.
