Regional dinosaur history and hands-on history exhibits are within a preserved log ranch created by community volunteers in 1989. It become a teaching museum for small groups of visitors interacting with knowledgeable guides of natural history. Unique “Please touch” exhibits invite interaction with specimens from dinosaur bones to live native reptiles to make the visit educational and memorable, even for small children.
The well-managed Morrison Natural History Museum collaborates with the Friends of Dinosaur Ridge to generate awareness of local Earth science resources. The museum has received international acclaim for its fossil discoveries at historic dinosaur dig sites. The Museum’s dig crew continues
in the 130-year tradition of exploring local outcrops for clues to Colorado’s ancient past.
