Driving west past the Red Rocks Park south entrance, more than 2,000 acres have been preserved alongside Bear Creek by Denver and Je Co. Little Park’s 400 acres begins o  Miller Lane in Idledale and continues to connect west with Lair O’ the Bear Park. The 392 acres o er 4.6 trail miles and wildlife galore, with a roundtrip trail of 12.6 miles through Denver’s 300-acre Corwina Park west. This open space connects south to O’Fallon’s 2,246 acres and Pence Park’s 320 acres. An estimated 303,882 motor vehicles brought 750,000 visitors through the canyon to hike,  sh, picnic, and camp in 1923. This inspired more and more preservation of 1,560 acres along Bear Creek.
